What is the best way to change meta data of movie after ripping? I need to change track number, composer etc.

CDRipper Stalls at 99% when "Write metadata file" DSP used on AIFF files

Using Multi-encoder profile, ripping 4 files (FLAC,ALAC,WAVE,AIFF), and applying several DSP settings (Replay Gain, Channel Count, HDCD, Play sound after conversion, ID Tag Processing, Move Destination File & WRITE METADATA FILE).

After several CD Rip tests/hangs at 99% (on more than one computer/drive), traced problem to "Write Metadata" DSP. After confirming all worked fine when that one DSP removed, I applied it separately to each of the separate Encoders' settings for DSP effects==>hangs==>applied it one at a time to each file encoding==>now, all works if I only apply it to FLAC, ALAC and WAVE. Not bad.

But any thoughts on how I can force it to also apply this "Write metadata file" DSP setting to the AIFF rip?

Both laptops have some security software that I can not totally disable, one laptop has Windows Vista, one has an enterprise variant of XP.

Release 14.4, DSP Effects Release 9.

Problem repeats on both machines attempting to rip AIFF to respective internal C: drives.

AIFF files always create fine, but no accompanying .xml file, and have to cancel rip at 99% within dbpa, even after sometimes letting it stay at 99% overnight.

Thank you.

De-Dup - Dual (or more) directory view

PerfectTunes is a great application. Thank you!

Having just completed finding and removing approximately 2,000 files from a 44,000 file collection, I found that many of the duplicates were full albums. Having realized that, where there were only two instances, I clicked on the upper folder icon, copied the URL from the address bar and pasted that into the left pane of a two-pane Directory Opus lister. I then closed the upper folder's list and did the same thing with the lower folder icon into the right Directory Opus pane. There were then a left and right view of the folders containing the duplicate files. Frequently the files listed in the left and right panes were the same album.

From there it was easy to see if this was a case of an entire album duplicate, and if so, I selected one directory and deleted it within Directory Opus. It still took LOTs of time.

Someone will probably tell me there is means to do this within De-Dup and that I wasted lots of time with the copy and paste. If not, I suggest that De-Dup allow two or more instances of the directory display to be on screen at the same time. Ideally, rather than two instances, this display could be on a multi-pane directory display, as Directory Opus provides.

Nimbie USB Hardware Ripper

Hi,

I am a registered user of DBPoweramp 14 and used it a couple of years ago to batch rip my cd collection. Unfortunately, my hard disk was lost in a recent house move and I am faced with the prospect of ripping my very very large cd collection to FLAC. I am thinking of automating the process with a Nimbie USB ripping station. I have a few questions:

a) does anybody have experience of this unit (which I understand is supported by DBPoweramp)

b) Are there any restrictions on the number of lookups I can make for meta tags and artwork.

c) Is it worthwhile to purchase PerfectTunes for this task. Does this work with batch ripping, and again, is there a limit on the number of lookups.

Thanks

When am I going to see duplicate songs - De-Dupe

Just purchased PerfectTunes. I have a large library - more than 50,000 flacs and mp3s. I enter the path to my library - everything is else is default.

I run De-Dupe - knowing that I have a lot of them. De-Dupe listens to my library for 2 and a 1/2 days but does not do anything when it finally finishes except go back to the "Control Center" page.
No duplicates detected or deleted.

When I start it again, it starts listening again, so I close that window. then it says Detecting Duplicates - for the next 3 hours. Then it finishes and goes back to the "Control Center" page.
Again, no duplicates detected or deleted.

What the hell - when do I accomplish something with this program??

shoes who earned Massive 12

Gabbert will must visit function with no his two leading threats in the passing game, as the Tigers lose Danario shoes Alexander and Jared Perry, who combined for 2,477 yards and 20 touchdowns. The Tigers do bring back beginning wide out Wes Kemp and among the top tight ends in the Massive 12 in Andrew Jones, but for this unit to create large again in 2010, the Tigers will need to have junior Jerrell Jackson and sophomore TJ Moe to step in and make a huge impact as starters this season.
The Tigers had just 4 starters back on defense last season, but still managed to improve against both the pass as well as the run. This year with eight starters back, the Tigers are hoping for an even bigger improvement on this side of the ball.
One cause the defense improved was the outstanding play of red-shirt freshman defensive end Aldon Smith, who earned Massive 12

At linebacker the Tigers bring back two starters in senior weak-side linebacker Andrew Gachkar and junior middle linebacker Will Ebner, but the large question is how will this team make up for the loss of strong-side linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, who was a very first round pick in this year's NFL draft. Heading into the fall it looks like sophomore Zaviar Gooden will get the very first crack to replace Weatherspoon.
The Missouri Tigers head into the 2010 season with 16 starters back, eight on each and every side of the ball, and need to be thinking they've an excellent shot at taking down Nebraska for the Large 12 North title. The Tigers completed the season 8-5 in 2009, but had been just 4-4 in conference play. The Tigers have racked up 5 straight winning seasons under head coach Gary Pinkel, and I see no cause why that streak does not get pushed to six in 2010. Here is a fast preview of what the Tigers will appear like this season, plus my prediction on where they finish the season in the Big 12 North.
Prediction - 2nd Large 12 North: The Tigers are a scary team heading into the 2010 season, and figure to give Nebraska all it can deal with inside the North. The only cause I've the Tigers finishing second within the North this season, is they've to play Nebraska on the road, but a win in Lincoln along with the North should belong towards the Tigers as soon as once more.
One cause Washington figures to get back on track in 2010, is the offensive line comes in extremely skilled with 4 starters returning. The only alter will come at correct guard, where junior Jayson Palmgren looks to create his way into the beginning lineup. The Tigers have two of the top tackles within the conference in Dan Hoch and Elvis Fisher, but the leader of this group may be the very talented senior center Tim Barnes.
Defense:
All 4 starters return in the secondary, led by among the top corners in all of the Massive 12 in senior Carl Gettis, but for this unit to actually make an impact this season they've to start creating more turnovers, as the Tigers had just seven interceptions last year.
Defensive Freshman of the Year following finishing the season with 64 tackles plus a team greatest 11.5 sacks. The Tigers also bring back junior defensive tackle Dominique Hamilton, who will welcome fellow junior Terrell Resonno into the starting lineup in the other defensive tackle spot this season. Junior Jacquies Smith looks to earn the other beginning job at the open defensive end slot. Smith had 39 tackles and 1.5 sacks in his sophomore season as a backup.
Offense:
The Tigers welcome back senior operating back Derrick Washington, who had a team best 865 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2009. Washington ran for 1,036 yards in 2008, and I believe we're going to determine him break the 1,000 yard mark again this season.
The Tigers continue to produce best notch players at the quarterback position, and they have to enjoy what they got in junior to become Blaine Gabbert, who stepped in and threw for three,593 yards with 24 touchdowns to just 9 interceptions in his first full season as a starter. Gabbert is already considered among the finest quarterbacks within the Massive 12, and I feel we could see some massive numbers put up by this kid in 2010.

re-rip 13000 frames

I have brand new cd. All of first seven tracks and middle of two more tracks are identified by acurate rip. Others are failing. Not sure how long it takes to re-rip 13000 frames.

Is there better way to improve ripping? I can wait if quality makes difference. Right now ultra-security is enabled. I washed CD so many times. There are very minor scratches.

Success rate so far with audio cds is not good though everything is brand new. Not sure so many manufacturing defects. I usually have very few minor problems when I do for blu-ray or DVDs with anydvd.

Not sure if Level-5 offers the same quality as uncompressed

Hi,

I ripped a CD`s in FLAC lossless (Level 5). After that, I ripped the same CD into FLAC uncompressed (not Level 0 ... I mean really uncompressed)

After that I converted the folder made with Level 5 into uncompressed.

No I had the folder with the native ripped CD (uncompressed) and the folder with the converted (from Level 5 to uncompressed) files.

No I make MD5-Hashes.

I thought, they have to be the same, because I only removed the compression from the Level-5 files.

But every file was different!!

Is there really no difference in quality between Level-5 and uncompressed? I dont think so, because the conversion to uncompressed should only remove the compression, but it seems to be, that there are more things different.

Thanks for your answer

Musicbrainz vs. Discogs

If I were to use a single online database to input album data and upload cover images, which would be best? Musicbrainz or Discogs?

I'm sure each has its boosters and detractors, but I'd really like to use only one, and not have to do dual entries. I asked a question on one of the Discogs groups, but recently discovered Musicbrainz, and I'm now dithering. Here is my message to the Discogs group:

>> I have about 40 vinyl LPs and cassettes of railroad sounds, published by several different sources beginning in the mid 1950s, when steam locomotives were being retired. Many, many others have been released since then, up through the mid 1980s. These are formal releases that were available from retail outlets and by mail order.

>> Is "Non-Music/Field Recording" the best genre/style? They are all recordings of locomotives and trains in their working environment. Mobile Fidelity (MF- prefix) is likely the best known label. There are four releases from Owl Records (ORLP- prefix) in Boulder, Colorado, and at least seven from Stan Kistler (SK- prefix) in Pasadena, California. Another active label was Arkay Records (later Arkay Enterprises) (AR- prefix) in San Jose, California.

http://www.discogs.com/label/Mobile+Fidelity+Records
http://www.discogs.com/label/Owl+Records
http://www.discogs.com/label/Arkay+Enterprises

>> I have scanned the album covers and backs, and the label on the LPs, along with the cassette inserts and the cassettes themselves. Any album inserts and liner notes have been scanned and OCR'd. Many do not have formal catalog numbers, or copyright/release dates, including a few of the earliest Mobile Fidelity releases. The scans were done with the FlipPal portable scanner, at 300 ppi resolution, and although each album cover requires 12 separate 4x6 overlapping scans, the stitching software is by far the best I have ever used, including Photoshop. <<

For some reason, there is very little activity in 2012 and 2013 on the support forums for each database, or on Hydrogen Audio, so I thought I'd ask here.

I've been a licensed user of dBpoweramp for my regular music for many years (11,000+ songs and 1,100+ albums), and I'm now putting my railroad sounds collection into foobar2000 and my MP3 player. Since I gathering all the data for the MP3 tags, I kind of want to share it with others with similar interests.

HP Envy Phoenix CD ROM not recognised by dBpoweramp

Hi

I have just installed dBpoweramp on a new HP Envy Phoenix 800-050EA and the CD ROM is not recognised, irrespective of the number of CDs used to try to configure dBpoweramp. PC properties show the CD ROM drive as an HP DVD-RAM GHA3N device.

Any suggestions for how to get the CD ROM recognised so that I can benefit from AccurateRip and avoid having to use Ultra Secure ripping for all my disks?

Many thanks.

Errors converting from flac to mp3

I have had a problem converting this one album ripped in flac, and converting from the flac files to mp3

The message reads; Error converting to mp3, Error writing audio data to StdIn Pipe [dEncoder::EncodeBlock]

The mp3 files are created along with album art thumbnail, but I cannot open the files in any player, & the original metadata that I can see when hovering my mouse over the flac files, is not in the mp3 files.

The file names of the individual songs are a bit long, & so is the album title, but I had tried renaming editing in mp3 tag, but this did not work, I still get this error message.

Setting up system for crash dumping

Occasionally you might be directed here to setup your system to generate a crash dump file which will enable Illustrate to locate the cause of a crash. When your system is setup in this way, any program which crashes writes its state to a .dmp dump file, it is like a snapshot of the program at the point of the crash.

To set your system to write crash dump files:

1) Create a folder crashdump in the root of drive c: (so you have a folder c:\crashdump\ ) Open Windows Explorer, select drive c:, press the alt key, then F, and choose 'New >> Folder' type the name crashdump

2) Save this file:

http://www.dbpoweramp.com/beta/SetupCrashDump.zip

to the c:\crashdump\ folder, then right click on this zip file >> Extract All >> follow the steps to extract the file

Once you have SetupCrashDump 'Registration Entries' saved, double click it, a message will appear asking if ok to insert in the registry, select yes.

3) Run your program which crashes, once crashes, close the 'Program has stopped working' window, and send the new .dmp file from c:\crashdump\ to http://www.dbpoweramp.com/email.htm (if you are able to zip it up it will be smaller, right click on in >> Send to >> Compressed Zip Folder)

4) To return your system so it does not write crash dump files, select Start >> run (or press Windows Key + R), type:

regedit

browse to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Wind ows Error Reporting\LocalDumps

and delete the values: DumpFolder and DumpType

Normalizing Tracks for an Internets Radio Station.

$

Hi Everyone,
I was directed here by the good folks at Shout Automation. They tell me you have the best product to solve my problem-and from what I have seen, you know your stuff.....
I have looked through the forums and can't seem to find an answer for my particular problem:
I have a (completely legal, licensed, and royalty-paying) Internets radio station. The problem I am having is that my track volumes playing from my automated server are all over the place. This is more than just annoying-it is a deal-breaker for listeners.
I am trying to figure out the best way to normalize all of the tracks and then re-upload them to my remote server. I m talking about 9gigs of music from many genres. My previous service providers have had built-in normalization so this hasn't been an issue but they are not available to me anymore.
As I understand the instructions, I should place all of the music in one folder and then go through the conversion process using the DSP effects add-on to normalize the tracks at a set volume.
My key questions are:
1.) What is the best way to place all of the tracks in one folder? I have multiple download-sources so they tend to be spread into different folders. I have thought I had all my Mp3s in one place before only to find out I was wrong. Playing 'Whack-A-Mole' with several hundred songs isn't fun.
2.) I understand that the normalization process will only increase the gain of quieter tracks, not decrease the volume of louder ones, so how do I determine the volume setting?
3.) Is it better to (via FTP) pull the tracks from my remote server into a folder, normalize them, and then re-upload them or should I delete them, normalize what is on my drive and upload new versions?
Thanks in advance.
Any help will help me sleep better at night.

AccurateRip configuration issue

Hi,

I am trying to configure AccurateRip on my new system (MacBook Air, OS X 10.8.4, Apple USB SuperDrive, WMWare Fusion 5.0.3 and Win 7 HP). After every CD I get the message :

This Key Disc cannot be used for offset detection it does not match the AccurateRip stored disc, or your drive does not exist in AccurateRip and this disc has multiple pressings stored. Please try a different Key Disc.

I have checked the list of Key Discs and tried 13 Discs. Then I have realized that my system displays

NECVMWar VMware IDE CDR00 ATA Device

as the CD drive.

Do I have a chance to configure AccurateRip and if yes how?

Thanks in advance.

Window display issue: program window keep resizing to 1/4 screen

For several days, my dBpoweramp has been having issues displaying on my screen. The program insists on being anchored to one corner of the screen or another, and I cannot move it where I want it. And I resize it to a size that is convenient, then it jumps back to 1/4 of the screen. I reinstalled but no improvement.

Hi, I have a Cyrus streamer, Toshiba laptop and WD Live book NAS. When a cd has ripped tracks will be in the wrong order, sometimes ripped3 or 4 times or artwork is missing even when everything is accurate according to ripping feedback. Sometimes everything is correct. Any ideas on what is wrong?
